OLD LADY’S STARTLING EXPERIENCE. UNUSUAL PETONE INCIDENT. Just how a somewhat bad-tempered bull made its way out of the Gear Meat Company's pens at Petone on Tuesday it is difficult to say. But the bull, in anything hut a pleasant mood, suddenly ' found himself at large, and made off’down the road towards Ptetone Central with several of the company’s employees in chase. It turned into Nelson street, and'there thundered down Xn Mrs Senior, an old. lady of sixty, > was caught just, outside her gate, knocked down> and gored in one of her kgs. The animal then went on along the' street, still chased'by several men. Had it elected .to take the road into Petone. the mfiin street of the township might have witnessed some unusual Bights. However, the bull turned into the Hutt road, and there it was shot and killed by a rifle held by one of its pursuers, about half an hour later.. The injuries suffered by Mrs Senior were not of a. serious nature, and she was able ito remain at home and receive medical ( attention. She is now reported to be progressing favourably.
