BROOKLYN CLUB. The Brooklyn club bold its weekly, run from Karon on Saturday afternoon. H. Walls and L. Jones laid a good trail of about five miles over the Usual Karori course. There were rnty-five runnors present, including Todd and A, Barclay, who rap first and third respectively in the New Zealand championship at Dunedin last week. The club captain (D. Todd) was ib charge of the pack. A run-in of about ISO yards was bold, the placings being: D. Wilaon and J. Cooper, dead heat, .1; A. Richards and G., Gillott, dead heat, 2, The club -will he represented by. tho following in -tho road race which is to tps held next week:—“A.” team: D. Todd, A. Barclay, J. McKinley,, M. Walls and Dl Bruce.' "B” team: A Byre, G. Austin, J. Fatter, F. Horten, and J. Cooper. - On September 23 the club is holding a ten-mile sealed handicap at Hntt Fork. Among the runners will be R. Rose, of Masterton harriers, and D. Todd, of Brooklyn. H. Moore (Olympic) it also a likely starter. Entries for this raoe dose with the secretary on Saturday week. SCOTTISH HARRIERS. Saturday’s fixture was a 3 miles team race for a shield presented by Mr R. W., MoViUy, president of the club, the event being Held at Lyall Bay. Four teams competed, each consisting of foUr men, the start -being effected by Mr W. Baudinet. Page took the lead early, followed -by Dawkins, Gkreig and Souness. At the 2 mile post Page bad a, break of nearly a hundred yards on Dawkins, and going on strongly was' first home with about 150 yards to spare. The next to finish wore Dawkins, Sounese and Greig in that order. On the points being totalled it was found that the i’B’' and "D” teams had tied for first place, but this result is likely to be altered ou a. technicality, as a member of the "B” team left the trail to return homo, but eventually returned to it and completed the distance. Details of the winning .teams are as follow: “D” team: A. J. Greig (capt.), 1,. Traill, A. Evans, J. C. Souness,' 4, 11, 9, 3—27 points. "B” team: A. Page, F. Donnan,’A. Rogers, J. Andrew, 1,5, 7, 14, —27 points. After the race' the selector, Air J. O’Neill, announced the team for the Bennett Memorial race on Saturday next, as follows: —A. Page, L. Dawkins, L. G. Ward, W. Anderson, J. C. Soune6s. WELLINGTON. Tlie Wellington Harriers’ contest on Saturday was an invitation run from Mrs R. Robinson’s residence, Moxham avenue. Paper being dispensed with, the pack, in charge of 0. Rowberry, followed the road, to Lyall Bay, where they took to the beaoh. Following the beach round as far as the fishermen’s huts, they ran to the- hills, coming out on the road bv Scots College, and then across the Miramar flats to the gasometer. On reaching tlie road, tlie pack followed the road home. After the riin, the members and their lady
friends were entertained at afternoor tea. During the afternoon the dub’s selector announced fibe teams which are to represent the club in the road race for the Bennett Memorial Shield, as follow: A team, A. Hose (captain), I. Rowberry, R. Watson, R. A. Morton, and A. C. Clauham. B team, H. Spence (captain), A. Robinson, R. Mowbray, T. Carter, and C. Rowbcny.
