TEAM FOR SOUTHERN TOUR. Some difficulty has been experienced In arranging the Wellington- representative team to make the southern tour, but the selectors are now able to announce that the following players will make the trip: Backs—E. Christophereon, Gibson (Old Boys), Mahoney, F. Tilyard, Thomas (Petone), A. Jaokson, Creed, D. Matheson, M. Corner, Forwards—S. Standen, McjHerron, Hopkins, J. Shearer, Pringle, Gair, King (Oriental), T. Price, Arthur Parker, and Muir. Mr H. C. Buck will accompany the toam as manager The team will train at tho. Athletic gymnasium to-night, and will leaye for the south to-morfow.
Members of the Wellington and Auckland teams were entertained at dinner by the Wellington Rugby Union after the representative match on Saturday, and the Auckland and Taranaki teams were taken for a motor drive round the bays on Sunday. Taranaki were return, ing home from thair southern tour. On Friday evening the representative players in town were tlie guests of the Wellington Rugby Union at the performance /of "The Boy.’ The Canterbury referees wore entertained by the local referees on Saturday evening. Fourth-olass—Poneke fourth-class defeated Athletic fourth-class by 5—3, after a very interesting game. A try was registered by cither side. Poneke converting theirs. Davies scored and converted for Poneke, while Walls scored for Athletic. The Athletic fourth-class wore mourning on account of bereavement in the family, of one of its members. •
