U.S.A. CONSUL’S CONDUCT. BRITAIN’S DRASTIC STEP. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received September 1, 9.55 p.m.) ' LONDON, August 31. The British Government has suspended the credentials of the United Staten Consul and Vice-Consul at Newcaotle-on-TYno because they abused their official positions to the disadvantage of British interests, by refusing to vise passports of British passengers to America on the most trivial pretexts unless the passengers agreed to travel in American liners. /The consulate and archives have been removed to Hull.
