UNUSUAL CRICKET INCIDENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association LONDON, August 31, There was an unprecedented incident at the Nottingham-Hampshire match. Newman was angry because the crowd barracked when he rearranged the field in order to meet round the wicket bowling. He hesitated to begin his over and Tennyson ordered him to the pavilion. Newman, before retiring, kicked down the wicket and used objectionable language.
