THE LIQUOR QUESTION
STATE CONTROL ISSUE. Speaking to a Press representative in Wellington Mr R. A. Armstrong, Dominion secretary of the New Zealand Moderate League, said! that there appeared to be some ponfusidn in the public mind as to the. iasiieg that word to be voted upon at the forthcoming licensing poll. There would be three issues as on the last occasion, and those electors who wished to record their opinions against prohibition, but who did. not favour the existing condition of things, would again have the opportunity of voting for State control. .
As the Prime Minister had stated that in the event of prohibition being defeated at the Doming poll, comprehensive licensing legislation would be brought down, the .State Control issue gave the electors a particularly useful opportunity of indicating to the Government their desire for reform.
