DEATH OF A CHILD
GIRL AND YOUTH CHARGED. >EB PRESS ASSOCIATIONAUCKLAND, September. 1. ’ As a result gf the death of a female, child on a launch on. the Whau river on August 6th immediately ‘after birth, the mother, who is aged 16 years and 10 months, was charged at the police oourt with having omitted, to perform, or observe, her legal duty that resulted in the death of the child.
A youth, aged 22 years, Cecil Nathaniel Williams, was charged with unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under 16 . years of age. Counsel said the parties had since been married. Both oases were remanded till Thursday, ■ ’
