FIRES IN THE CITY

BUILDING BADLY DAMAGED. At 2.30 o’clock yesterday afternoon, the fire brigade received a call to the Rosoneath reserve, where a quantity of gorse which had been out down was found to be on fire. Before the flames were subdued some of the pine trees in the reserve were damaged. Last evening, at 8.23 o'clook, a fire was discovered in premises owned and occupied by Mr William T. Hildreth, at 31, Lome street. The buildings, which consist of offioes and stores, were badly damaged by fire and water.
