MOTOR BOAT CLUB

ANNUAL PRESENTATION OF OF PRIZES. The annual .presentation of prizes and smoke night of the Port Nicholson Motor Boat dub was held in the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club’s club-house on Thursday evening. Mr Joseph Watts (vice-commodore) occupied the chair in the ■ absence of the commodore, Mr Steeds, and there were about 70 present. Among the guests of the evening were Captain J. Dawson, harbourmaster, Mr William Duncan, commodore of the Royal P.N.Y.C., and representatives from the Heretaunga M.B. dub, . and Evans Bay Y. and M.B. Club. Mr J. Ronavne, late commodore of the Port Nioholson Motor Boat Club, presented- the prizes. The principal winners were: Messrs Bridson and Robertson's "Tana,” championship banner and trophies valued £5 10s; Mr Watta's "Puriri," Commodore Steeds's prize of J!10.; Mr J. Well's "Dolphin, £2 17s and trophies; and Mr J. Tonk’s "Resolution'' trophies valued at £3. Musical items were contributed by Messrs Andrew Williams (at the piano), Cliff Baker. G. Clapham, Frank Williams, Pierard, Alex. Newton, and Verne. Many toasts were celebrated and a most convivial evening was spent.
