The railways .are arranging cheap excursions to the totality zone in connection with the solar eclipse. A scientist, in a letter to the Press, warns the public of the danger of watching the eclipse with the naked eye or through defective media, ns they may be stricken with what is known as eclipse blindness, of which lie quotes numerous cases of total or partial affliction. The writer suggests watching the reflection on a smooth black surface, or through a pin-hole in white paper, or by direct vision through very dark glass. Coloured glass of all sorts should be barred.
