SHEARERS CLAIM A VICTORY. By Telc-eraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received August 30, 11.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 30. Henry Boots was fined £lO, with £3O 10s costs. Counsel for the Graziers’ Association, in pressing for a heavy penalty, said the strike had already cost the association £IOO,OOO. The shearers claim a victory in the dispute. They state that the requests for men to proceed to various sheds and willingness to pay Queensland rates are daily coming to hand. A previous message stated that the Australian Workers’ Union and Henry Boote, editor of the newspaper “The Worker,” were proceeded against by the Graziers’ Association on a charge of having counselled a strike.
