Mr Meadowcroft presided over the fortnightly meeting of the committee, which was held on Monday last, other members present being Mrs Seville, Misses White and Burfoot, and Messrs Watson and Carvoseo. The president flMt FL Meadowcroft) welcomed Miss Burfoot and Miss White as new members of the committee. The inspector reported on cases he had attended to since the previous meeting. The majority of them concerned illtreatment of horses, and the suffering caused to them had been relieved, and in some cases advice as to treatment had been given. Collections amounting to j£ls 8e wore acknowledged, and these included Ml U each from Mr E. Morris, junr., and the Trades and Labour Council, and Ml Os 6d from the Island Bay Junior League.
