The international amateur golf tourney has begun for the Walker Cup, with the Scotch foursome, morning and afternoon rounds of 36 holes, and will be completed to-morrow with singles. In today's morning rounds Ouimet and Guildford (America) defeated Tolley and Darwin (Britain), four up and three to play; Jones and Sweetzer (America) defeated Torrence and Hooman (Britain), seven up and six to play; Wetheied and Aylmer (Britain) defeated Evans and Gardner (America), three up and two to play; FOnnes andi Marston (America) defeated Oaven and Mackenzie, one up. (Received August 29, 8.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 29. The afternoon round, of holes, was completed. Aylmer and Wethered defeated Evans and Gardner three up; Ouimet and Guildford defeated Tolley and Darwin, eight up and seven to play; Jones and Sweetzer defeated Hooman end Torrence, throe up and two to play; Founes and Marston defeated Cavon and Mackenzie, two up and one to play. Captain Harris, of ihe British team, is dangerously ill with throat trouble. He is in hospital and an- operation may be necessaiy.
