Mr W. F. Stewart, of the firm of Brown, Stewart, of Auckland; who has been on a business visit to venous parte of the South Island, is at present in Wellington. Mr Stewart leaves for the north to-day on his way back to Auckland.

The Rev. C. F. Pierce, M.A., the newly-appointed headmaster for the Wanganui Collegiate School, arrived in Wellington 'yesterday by the Manuka from Sydney. Mr Pierce, who oomes firm Queen Elisabeth's School, Cranbrook, Kent, England, is at present the guest 0." Bishop Sprott.

Mr Wallace Dailey, of Christchurch, who died suddenly in his sixtieth year on Saturday, was a member of the Ricc&rton Borough Council imn 1913 to 1919, and was chairman of the works committee. He was a prominent member of the Cambrian Society and the United Bowling Club.

Mr A. W. Jeavone, recently transferred from tho Auckland branch of the firm of Ross and Glendining to Dunedin, has been appointed secretary of the company. Mr G. R. Hercus, who has hekt this post ever since tbe formation of tee company, will still continue his active interest in the business, and retain his seat on the board of directors. The firm celebrates its diamond jubilee this month.

The Rev. G. N. Watson has resigned the vicarehip of St. Paul's Church, Wairoa, and has been appointed by the Archbishop to the parish of Waihao Downs, near Waimate, South Canterbury. He leaves Wairoa about the middle of next month to take up his new duties. It is understood that the Rev. Mr Shardlow, 8.A., an English clergyman, will be Mr Watson's successor, and will probably work the district from Wairoa.

Death has removed another very early resident, in the person of Mr MaUoott Richardson (says the "Wyndham Herald"), who died at Matanra Island last week, at the age of nearly 71 years. Deceased was a eon of the late Dr Frederick Hall Richardson, and a brother of the late Hon. G. F. Richardson, Minister for Lands in Sir Harry Atkinson'* Government. MaUoott Richardson arrived in New Zealand in 1851, when he was ten years old, and spent almost the whole of hi« life in Lower Matanra. the exception being three years in the North Island. Tn 1878 he married Miss-Alajr-garet Crighton (member of another pioneer family), and engaged in fanning pursuits.

Mr R. K. Cameron, manager of the Dnnedin office of the New Zealand Shippin? Company, whoee death was reported on Saturday, was a eon of the late J. It. Cameron, of Moa Flat Station, being born at Invercargill in 1877, and wa* educated at the Dunrobin, North-Kept Harbour, and Kaikorai Schools, in turn. He started work in Dunedin as a junior? in the office of the late Mr B. H. Fulton, end, in January of 1894, he joined the service of the New Zealand Shipping Company. In 1906 he was promoted to the charge of the company's office* at Bluff, where he stayed for six year* before being transferred to Tokomam Bay. tn 19*20 he returned as manager to the office in which he made his start with the company, and he remained in Dunedin until the time of his- death.
