A STRANGE STORY

PRINCESS OLGA OF RUSSIA SAID TO HAVE VISITED AUSTRALIA. DEATH CONTRADICTED. Bv Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. ADELAIDE, August 22. Mrs Mclntyre, who was formerly Madame Kossovskaiea, and who arrived by the steamer Ballarat, states that Princess Olga, tho eldest daughter of the late Czar of Russia, is not dead as supposed, but was recently in Sydney. When the Royal Family was murdered a secret society, of which Madame Koesovskaiea was a member, kept track of the princess. She first sheltered with an uncle in England, and later journeyed to Australia, where her musical talents secured her a position in the Conseawatorium. While there She married a man named Bennett, and returned to London. In support of this story it is stated that some time ago a passenger list of an incoming steamer bore the name “Miss Romanoff.” Subsequently the same name appeared on the passenger list of an outgoing steamer.

Madame Kossovskaiea herself has had an adventurous career. At the age of fifteen she married a famous musician, and! herself beoame a prima donna. She joined a secret society plotting against the Czar, and then joined Komiloff’s White Army opposing the Bolsheviks round the Black Sea. She participated in a number of engagements, receiving severe bullet wounds and was sent to Salonika for treatment, where she met and married an English soldier named Mclntyre.
