FIFTY-SIXTH ANNUAL REPORT. The fifty-sixth annual report of th» Star Boating Club, which is to be presented to members on Friday night, states that the dub funds had to ha drawn upon to a considerable extent to provide for repairs and maintenance to the clubhouse and plant. As a consequence the year ended with a bank overdraft of £6 15s Id. New debentures to a value of £365 had been taken up, leaving £235 worth still to be disposed of. The statement of assets and liabilities shows a surplus of assets of £1979 18s lid. The membership roll discloses a total membership of 302, of whom 60 are lib, 106 active, 59 life honorary, 35 honorary and 42 country members., It is pointed out by the Committee that the quality of the rowing was not as good as desired last season. This, it is stated, was due principally to the lack of coaching of the Junior oarsmen. Training by members was also lax throughout tHo season. Tie club was represented at the Pieton, Wellington and Wanganui regatta*. At Wellington tho club's representatives wore successful in obtaining first place in the "junior fours," and lightweight "maiden fours," and at Wanganui championship meeting the jnnior crew war successful.
