THORNDON RATEPAYERS

TO FORM ASSOCIATION. A movement is on foot for tho formation of a ratepayers’ association in Thorndon, it being considered that a central organisation such as that exfating at present does not truly represent the interests of tihe northern part of the city. The mhtter, is to he considered at a meeting of ratepayers to be held on Monday, and a circular which has been sent out to a number of citizens resident in the northern portion of the city contains the following paragraph:—“ln view of the constant and ever-increasing activities of various suburban municipal associations and the influence these bodies have an the policy and personnel of the Gity Council as . a whole, it is considered that there is a call for the conservation of the interests of the city proper and of that portion of it lying northwards of the Post Office.”
