FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

ON FIELD. The Wellington Football Association met this week; present, Messrs A. E. Weils (chairman), C. Webster, W. Duncan, W. Auld, C. K. Dick, C. Blair, B. Mubin, and A. Williams. The Nelson F.A. wrote asking the Wellington F.A. to rend.a team over as early as possible.—The secretary reported that the clubs had been asked if they could send a team, but only Thistle had replied as yet. —It was decided to hold the letter over. Institute Old Boys F.C. wrote that in their match v. Scottish Wanderers, J. Wanden had his nose broken, necessitating medical treatment. A report was received that an Association Club had been formed at Levin, the secretary of which asked for particulars of procedure.—The secretary Is to forward the particulars desired. MEETING OF COUNCIL. RE-ARRANGING A COMPETITION. The New Zealand Football Council met last evening, present: Messrs C. Fordham (cliairman), R. Y. Walls, A. Varney, F. Saunders, H. Yeoman, W. G. Perkins, J. M. OHtver. F. Campbell, A. Menzies, A. Barnett, H. I. Graves, W. G. Bryce, with B. L. Salmond (hon. secretary). NEW ASSOCIATION. An application uas received from the South Canterbury F.A. for particulars of affiliation, as they had just formed the association with four senior clubs with an average of 18 members, with a likelihood of more next year. The hon. secretary is to forward the particulars desired. THE SKERRETT CUP. It was reported l that the holders of the Skerrett Cup were Otago Boys’ High School, but as secondary schools were not now participating in Iho competition, it was desired to writo to the school asking if it was a fact that they were unable to compete, in which case they were requested to return the cup to the association. On the proposal of Mr Varney it was decided that a sub-committee should lie formed to go into the question of rearranging the competition.
