Matheson (Otago) has been appointed to play at half-back. AT UPPER HUTT. Rugby was played in good weather at Upper Hutt last Saturday. The upper third grade met Athletic at Maidstone, the game resulting in a druYvn game, 1) all. For the home team tries -were scored t'y Donovan and Sanderson and Paul kicked a goal. At Quinn’s ground, Upper Hutt IV. beat Wesley by 23 to nil. Oriental A beat Upper Hutt V. by 1? to 3. For the past fortnight casualties occurred to the Upper Hutt team, two of their best players (D. Fogarty and G. Scott) being the victims. With them out of the team Upper Hutt is considerably weakened.
