(Special to “N.Z. Times.”) OTAKI, June 23. Mr W. Warnock, first assistant at the To Horo Dairy Company’s factory, has been appointed manager of the Tahoraitd factory (Dannevirke). Mr W. Kirker and Mr G. Meharry, managers of the Te Horo and Manakau factories respectively, were among the successful exhibitors at .the Manawatu A. and P. Show. Apologies for absence, through illness, were received from His Worship the Mayor (Mr Brandon) and Mr A. Sarterley. The chairman stated that it was the general feeling that Sister Lewis should be accorded a fitting farewell. She would arrive back in Otaki on July 4th, and leave next day en route for Home. On bis suggestion it was decided to hold a Social and dance and to make a presentation. It was agreed to secure the theatre for the purpose, and to sell tickets at 2s eabh, while residents would also be asked to make contributions, Mr F. G. Davies was appointed secretary. Mrs Bills is to be asked to take charge of the refreshment portion of the programme, and the Rev. Petrie and Mr Lowry to arrange a musical programme. The fancy dress ball at Otaki last night was a great success. Many novel and unique costumes were worn. The ladicsJjMrizo was won by Miss G. Rikihana “Cleopatra”), while Mrs J. Mo Gill (“Maori Chieftainese”) was second. Mr W. Suhritzky (“A Mexican”) won the zent.’s prize, and Mr H. C. Stable (“Moorish Slave”) the second prize. Miss I/ouise Maok is at present among, the visitors to this district, MR HOWDTT WORSTDR. the popular operatic baritone, is warm In hie praise of Fluenzol as a nasal irrigant and gargle for clearing the throat and invigorating the vocal chords.
