Gibson. He thought it would hnvo been much better if each batteiy had gone to the front under its original name. At a later stage of the proceedings Lieut.-Colonel Avery remarked that while he also regretted the change there need be no fear that the good name of the battery would suffer, or that the new designation would nate any deteriorating influence 111- any new significance. When the assembly was called upon to drink tho toast of “Hie sth Battery” there ttoro manv ghauts of “D Battery.”
