DR. BRAKES AT DANNEYIBKE. Dr. C. J. Reakes, Director-General of the Board of Agriculture, bee recently been in the Dannevirke district, in connection with the rabbit nuisance, and met the chairman and secretary of the Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board in conference, with a number of other gentlemen, for -the purpose of considering .th© advisability of terming a, Rabbit Board for Dannevirke county or a local association.

It was pointed out that it would cost £250 to £3OO to keep an inspector, and' the district could not levy any rate while it was under the Hawke’s Bay board. Having received advice and information from Dr. Reakes and Mr H. Crosse, chairman of the Hawke’s Bay hoard, the subject is to be furthet considered at another meeting.
