EFFORT TO OBTAIN PREFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. MELBOURNE. June I. The Prime Minister is again approaching the Imperial authorities with a view to obtaining preference for Australian, meat. It is explained that Britain is ,-not likely to accede to the request, being a freetrade country, and because such action would invite reprisals from other countries.
