BRITAIN AND U.S.A.

CO-OPERATION TO ENSURE WORLD’S PEACE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received June 1, 9.55 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 31. Mr H. N. Harwell (Premier of South Australia) delivered a speech at a luncheon given by the English-speaking Union, in which he expressed the necessity of close co-operation between the British Empire and the United States to assure the peace of the world. He would not be able to formulate a plan by which this co-operation could he brought about, hut this could he worked out by the statesmen of the two nations. It would be well if France would also join in, but, in the event of France not seeing her way clear, the English-speaking peoples should take up the task of righting civilisation alone.
