THE WRECKED STEAMER

FURTHER PARTICULAKB OF VESSEL. The Wiltshire, which left Liverpool on April 22nd, is loaded with general cargo from Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool, for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She belongs to the Federal Steam Navigation Company, Ltd., and is a twin screw five-masted steamer, of a' gross tonnage of -12,160. She was built at Clydebank by J. Brown and Co., Ltd., in 1912. Her length is 526 feet, breadth 61 feet, and depth 33 feet. No particulars of the crew are available, but Captain W. H. Hayward, who hae been in command of the vessel for some years, was bringing her out this trip, while Mr Goddard was chief officer. A Press Association message from Auckland states that the Wiltshire left Liverpool on April 22nd for Auckland, via Panama Canal. The cargo consists of general merchandise, and is estimated at 10,000 tons The manifests are. aboard, and the s/gents are unable to give the list until it is obtained from, the Wiltshire or duplicates from London arrive. A very large number of Auckland merchants have consignments on board.
