PORT CHALMERS, Wednesday—lonio (11 a.m.), from Lyttelton; Calm (5 p.m.), for Timaru.

The Ripple, wihioh is due on Saturday from Napier, sails on Monday on her return voyage. The Gale, which sailed yesterday afternoon for Wanganui, is due back on Friday. She sails the same day for Dunedin direct, taking cargo for Dunedin and Timaru. The 'Coronation, which left Whakatone on Tuesday with a full oargo of maize for Wellington, is due hero on Monday next. Tho Holmdale is now due on Saturday from southern, ports and will sail for Wanganui on Monday next. The Kakapo is due this afternoon from Greymouth with coal and timber. Tlio Wingatui is expected to leave Dunedin about Friday next for Wellington via Oomaru, Timaru and Lyttelton. She loads here about June Bth for Auckland.

The Kahika is due on Friday from Dunedin and southern ports. She sails on Friday also for New Plymouth and thence to Nelson.

The Ngakuta will load at Greymouth on Friday for Wellington, and' is due here on Sunday. The Ngahere, which arrived yesterday, sails to-day for Greymouth. The Kamo sails to-day for Greymouth to load for Lyttelton. The Wanaka, which arrived last evening from southern ports, sails to-day for Auckland with general cargo. The Kennedy, which arrived last ovening. Will sail at 3 p.m. to-day for Foxton. Tho Wairau sails at 4 p.m. to-day for Blenheim. She is due back On Saturday. The auxiliary scow Echo is now due to sail, for Blenheim on Friday. The Kapiti sails this afternoon at 2 o’clock for Wanganui. . The Kapuni is now due to sail for Patea at 5 p.ul. to-day, The Hawera is due from Patea on Friday,, and will sail again on Saturday. The Baden Powell is due on Saturday from New Plymouth and will sail again on Monday on the return voyage. The Waverley will sail for Patea on Friday at 5 p.m. Mr S. M. Imossi has joined the Rakanoa as third officer, relieving Mr W. Seantlcbury, who has transferred to the Katoa as third officer, relieving Mr W. J. Freeman. Mr W. J. Freeman has transferred to the Flora as 'Second officer, relieving Mr N. McDonald, who has been transferred to the Rakanoa as second officer. M.r H. A. Brockett, second officer of the Rakanoa, has come ashore for instructions. Th- Corinna left New Plymouth at 11.30 a.m. yesterday and is due here to-day. She will sail to-day for Dunedin and loads there on Monday, via way ports, for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. The Waimea arrived yesterday from Picton, and sails at 3 n.m. to-day for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth. The Invercargill, which sailed last evening for Wanganui and Pelorus Sound, is due back on Saturday, and sails again on Monday.

The Shaw, Savill Liner lonio is due on Saturday from Port Chalmers. She will be dispatched at daybreak on Saturday, June 16th, for Southampton and London via Panama CANADIAN CONSTRUCTOR. Messrs Murray, Roberts advises that the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Constructor will sail at 11 a.m. to-day for New Plymouth and Auckland to complete discharge and to load cargo for Nbw York, Boston, and Montreal She will leave Auckland on June 7th next' for' New York* direct. CANADIAN MILLER TO-DAY. The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Miller is timed to leave port at 4 p.m. to-day for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. The vessel will complete discharge of her American cargo at these ports, and will also load for New York, Boston, and Montreal. She will sail from Auckland about June 9th for New York via Papeete. THE POUT AUGUSTA. The C. and D. Liner Port Augusta arrived at Auckland from New York, on Tuesday evening, and is due here on Monday next. She will leave on Tuesday for Lyttelton and Dunedin, and will pro. ceed on to Australian ports for completion of discharge of her American cargo. THE CANADIAN LEADER. The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Leader is reported to be due at Sydney on June 13th from Montreal and New York. She is due in New Zealand from Adelaide about the end of June, and will discharge and load at New Zealand ports for Montreal. .

LARGE BARQUES AS HULKS, i According to advices received by the last mail,, two very fine large German four-masted barques—the Jersbek, 2871 tons gross and the J. C. Vinnen, 3149 tons gross—have been sold, and will be used as hulks. The Jersbek, which was originally known as the British sailing vessel Lyderhorn, was to leave Cardiff last month for Gibraltar, where she will probably end her career, while the J. C. Vinnen, which was formerly known as the Osborne, has been sold to the Pacifio Steamship Company, and will he used on tho West Coast, probably at Valparaiso.

DISPUTED SALE OF STEAMER. Unexpected difficulty arose in Melbourne on May 15th at the sale by auction of the steamer Palmer. ■ Under instructions from the liquidators of the Victorian Shipping Company, which recently went into voluntary liquidation, a firm offered for sale the twin-screw steel steamer Palmer, of 379 gross tonnage, now lying at the Melbourne Steamship Company’s wharf <>t Williamstown. The bidding was not keen, and the Palmer was knocked down for -64000 cash. On the purchasers’ cheque being handed to the auctioneers the vendors objected to a provision endorsed on the cheque about certain terms regarding a mortgage on the ship.

TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO- STEAMER. The Hauraki was to have left San Francisco for Wellington on May 29th. The Marama_arrived at San Francisco at 8.30 a.m. on Monday last. She leaves again on Friday next, June 2nd, for Weilington. _____________
