THE WAY TO PROSPERITY. MR MASSEY AT DUNEDIN SHOW. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, May 30. The Otago A. and P. Society’s win. ter show was officially opened to-day by the Prime Minister (the Right Hon W. F. Massey). Other Cabinet Minis ters present were Sir William Fraser, the Hori. E. P. Lee, and the Hon W. D. Stewart. Mr Massey congratulated the society upon the excellent show and the province upon the pro gress which it had made. He dealt with the condition of the markets for beef, wool, and other produce, and predicted more prosperous times ahead, especially in regard to crossbred wool. He urged the sheepfarmers to endeavour to increase their flocks, which had fallen considerably below what they had been numerically. He said there was no royal road to prosperity; it was only won by hard work, energy, industry, and enterprise.
