HUTT RIVER BOARD

BUSINESS LAST EVENING; The Hutt River Board met in its room at the Town Hall, Lower Hntt, last evening. Present were Messrs XV. T. Strand (chairman), S. Clendon, P. H. Futter, J. C. Mabey, and J. Mitchell. It was decided to make a general inspection of the river on Saturday week. A short programme for work ahead was prefaced. This includes the removal of an obstruction at Silverstream, the blasting of old piles, and attention to several washouts. Tenders for makin ga out in the gorge were considered, but none was accepted. It was decided to do the work by day labour. Accaountfl pashed for payments totalled £216.
