Mr Knight, chairman of the Hospital Board, speakiug on Dr. Blackmore’s indictment of want of method in treating consumption, endorsed much that had been said. He stated there was reluctance on the part of-people in the early stages of consumption to submit to examination. More encouragement should foe given to a. national policy. Patients could now leave an institution at will. Nothing more had been heard of the scheme to establish a Government sanatorium for Otago Central, but he understood a site had been selected at AYaipiata. '•
