GRAVES ON GALLIPOLI NEW ZEALANDERS’ LAST RESTING PLACE. SUM El HISTORIC SPOTS. The War Graves Department undertook some time ago to forward photographs of the graves of New Zealanders , who fell during the Gallipoli campaign and who lie buried' ou that penninsula. The photographs show the bemporary crosses that have been erected; these are to be replaced by permanent headstones as soon as they are available. Concentration cemeteries have been established and advice has now been received that the work has been completed in accordance with the plans carried out by the Imperial War Graves Commission, who, at the request of the New Zealand Government, obtained l photographs of the cemeteries. Copies are now being sent to next-of-kin by the New Zealand War Graves Department. HISTORIC POINTS SELECTED. The concentrated cemeteries are twelve in number, and are situated at some of the most historical points in connection with the late war. The names of the places are: —Hill 60, / Twelve-tree Copse, Shrapnel Valley, Beach Cemetery, 7th Field Ambulance (Waldron’s Point), No. 2 Outpost, Lancashire Landing, Ari Burnu, Embarkation Pier, Walker’s Ridge, and Skew Bridge. From some of the oemeteries, more especially Embarkation Pier and Ari Burnu, view's of the Aegean Sea are obtained. All the cemeteries have been fenced and have the appearance of being well-kept. DEPARTMENTAL DIFFICULTIES. The War Graves Department is still experienoing difficulty in respect to the ascertaining of addresses of next-of-kin, and many communications are being returned through the post office. The department is, desirous of being acquainted with any change of and asks that relatives who do not receive a photograph to make application for them. ,
