THE CHANNEL TUNNEL
ITS IMPORTANCE EMPHASISED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 30, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. The House of Commons Channel Tunnel Committee has issued a booklet containing Marshal Foch's opinion that, had there been a tunnel before the war, it might have prevented the war, and had the British and French possessed the tunnel in 1914 it would have shortened the war by at least two years.
