CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINMENT.

ST. MARK'S FUNDS. An excellent children's entertainment ■was held at the Town Hall concert chamber on Saturday afternoon, in aid of the funds of the St., Mark's Church school and the children's corner in the new St.- Mark's Cathedral. Not the least interested patrons of the function were Lady Jelhcoe and her children, who occupied the place’ of honour in the circle. The principal item of the lengthy programme jtresqnted by the pupils of the school waft the crowning of the school queen, little Mies Hilma Quinlan, by the Hon. Norah Jellicoe. The ceremony, which wa s carried out with, lull dress effects, was a very picturesque one, the courtiers and attendants who took part all being tiny tots of from four to eight years of age. Following the coronation the queen and her court indulged in a few steps of the royal miuuet; it was distinctly amusing, and most entertaining, to watch the sjnall figures, each appropriately costumed, bowing and curtseying and measuring out the dainty steps of the stately dance. The opening portion of the pregramme consisted ot miscellaneous vocal and dancing items. The crowning ol the queen was followed by a playlet- in. ; titled MJklother Hubbard's Party,' which was also made very attractive by the use of artistically made costumes and dresses, the participants at the entertainment were Sinclair Breen, Esme Gillies, Edna Purdie, Mavis King, Eleie Smith, Phyt'is Martin, Eileen Congreve, Bobby Martin. Hilma Quinlan, Joan, Margaret and Freda Ballinger, Kenneth and Ronald Hodson, Hilda Clift, Dorothy Underwood, Ina Small. Edna Chote, Margaret McKenzie, Joan Fauvell, Gwyn Stitchbury, Joyce Rosenberg. Joyce Radford, May Martin, Phil Rosie, Charlie Halkett, Theo Miller, Joan Travers, Laurie Banlield, Peggy Day, Hazel Kilby, Reggie Sheargold, Audrey Jenkins, Roy Congreve, Bobby Outfield, Harold Saunders, Jack Veitch, Jack Stevens, Edna Saxton, Joyce Gibson, Doris Howe, Bdwina and Ken Ware, Hazel Wells, Essie Gill, Ronnie Miles, Connie Pye, Connie Pearson, Dorothy Levy, Ronald Duffey, Frances Cunliffe, George Wright, Valda Hawker. John Gaudin, Janet Lewis, Melva Wise, Grace Gaudin, lan Purdie, Jean Boyle, and Desmond Broughton. Much credit is due to the organisers of the function* for the excellence of the costumes and the general guccess of the function, which it. is expected will realise a 'handsome sum for the benefit of the funds. Music was supplied by a small orchestra.
