In tho Legislative Assembly, Mrs Cowan, in moving the Addres»-in-Re-ply, attributed her election as the first woman member of Parliament because the electors felt that at times tho male members needed the reminder of a woman beside them to make them realise what should 'be done for tbo race and tho home.
