At a special meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council a motion, moved by Poverty Bay, was carried:—“That no challenges for tho Hawke Cup and ILeathcolo Shield bo* Toceivvd before -October Ist in each season, and that tho committee reserve tho right to arrange the priority of challenges/’ A Wellington motion was lost: —"That the Pliinket Shield rules he revised so Umt 30 per cent, be paid to the visiting association, with, a minimum of J 330; any loss to be borne by the local association/' Jt was reported that the tour of the Australian team would, when the accounts arc finally settled, show a credit of over ,-C.IOOO. Regarding the visit of an English team, it was slated that the four Australian associations would allpw the Council 75 per cent, of tho receipts. Matches v.-ouhl bo pDvpd nt Auckland and Dunedin at tho Council's risk, the Courtcil faking 10 per cent, of the profits, if any. Cablegrams being exchanged with the Mnrylebono Club -show that there is '"•cry probability of an attractive team being, sent oiiti but tho personnel has not yet been disclosed. . •’
