RECEIPTS AND .EXPENDITURE!. A COMPARATIVE' STATEMENT. A statement of the receipts and. expenditure of the Public Works Fund, gazetted yesterday, shows that the balance in hand at the beginning of the present financial year was ,£489,489, as against £-219,501 at the beginning of 1920-21; while the receipts {.including £200,000 from Treasury bills) totalled £983,452, making a grand total 'of £1,412,941, against £623.449 for the first quarter of last year. Contingent defence. £1894 (£3423). Lands improvement. £985 (£1,068). Irrigation and water supply, £5655 (£2729). Plant, material and stores, £51,638 (£5166). Services not provided for, June, 1920 (£166). Totals, £680,726 (£260,060).
