WRECKAGE FOUND

WASHED iUP NEAR NEW PLYMOUTH. NO IDENTIFYING MARKS. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, July 27. Wreckage has been washed on to the beaoh near New Plymouth, A large piece of decking has been found, wbioh appeared to have couie from the starboard bow of a vessel of fair size. The piece measured 40 feet by 15 feet, and was fixed t° a number of 10 inch by 10 inch beams, and there were other beams and deck planking scattered along the beach within about 100 yards of where the large piece of wreckage was found. The wood was Oregon and the planking was fixed to tho beams by galvanised iron spikes nine inches long and half an inch square. No marks Were visible on any of the material found that would give any indication as to the identity of tike ship. Those who examined the wreckage estimated that it had not been in the .-water longer" than six or seven weeks.
