MAYOR AND SPRINGBOKS
SECOND WELLINGTON MATCH. VISITORS’ CAPTAIN DOUBTFUL. The Mayor (Mr R. A. Wright, M.P.) has received from the manager of the Sooth African Rugby football team (Mr. H. C. Bennett) the following reply to his telegraphed request for a return match between the Springboks and WeiIfngton “Thanks very much far your telegram of even date. I cannot at this stage commit myself to a return match against Wellington. Everything depends on circumstanced. I am afraid it will be impossible, bnt we can see later on. With kind regards.”
