Poynton (Minister for Home Affairs'! has returned from an extended tour of tne Northern Territory and Papua. As the result of his inquiries, he expressed a doubt about the suitability of either New Guinea or the Territory for Europeans. Everything possible should he done to foster and encourage the natives, with whose adaptability and work he was favourably impressed, because without their aid the islands would he useless to Australia.
