STREET FATALITY

AGED WOMAN STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR. Mrs Rebecca Messenger, aged 74 years, residing with R. A. Bond, 93, Adelaide road, was killed by being knocked down by a motor-car in Adelaide road about 6 o’clock on Saturday evening. It appears that the deceased stepped off the footpath and was struck by the side of the motor-car, which was driven, by Mr S. M. Stone, of Wha street, Miramar. The woman was thrown heavily to the ground, her head striking the blocks. When picked up she was quite unconscious. In response to a telephone call' the hospital ambulance was quickly on the scene and hurried the injured woman to the hospital. On arrival of the ambulance at the hospital the woman was found to be dead. An inquest will he held to-day. ,
