PALMERSTON’S DOINGS.

(To the Editor "N.Z. Times.”) Jvi i', —Your special correspondent (apparently is easily hoodwinked, otherwise the statements concerning borough finance would not be reported from Palmerston North. Councillor Crabb’s contention that they had not raised the finance for the electrical scheme because of suggested railway deviation is purely bunkum, and a clumsy attempt to influence public opinion on the needless deviation suggestion. It is obvious that the correct thing to state was that the council could not raise the loan necessary for the undertaking. I suggest, under the circumstances that it is not the right time to increase the honorarium to the Mayor. ~ J. NOBLE. Palmerston North, March ISth, 1921.
