BANKING DIPLOMA.
(To tho Editor "N.Z. Times.”) Sir, —I am extremely interested an a paragraph in this morning'’* "Times” under the heading "Diploma in Banking.” .The Bank of New Zealand is certainly encouraging efficiency among their employees, by thedr generous offer of assistance in regard to fee 6, etc. I am not personally connected with the above institution, but 1 am in close touch with young men that are on the staff, who. are not only willing, but anxious to avail themselves of the Splendid chance offered to make themselves oapable. But what I understand is wanted even more than monetary assistance ia the opportunity to study tho special correspondence course. So far this year the bank has been working at high pressure, and I am afraid, to begm studying at say 8 o’clock at night, after a strenuous day, is asking a good deal from a young man. Could not some arrangement be made to allow their staff, say two or three nights each week regularly, to enable them to go in enthusiastically for the diploma. INTERESTED. March 14th, 1921.
