TURKISH SETTLEMENT

DISSATISFACTION OVER; ALLIED DECISIONS. Australian an<f N.Z. Gabje Association (Received March 16, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 15. The “Morning Post’s” Constantinople correspondent states that tho Turks are much dissatisfied with the latest Allied proposals. Tho newspapers generally urge absolute rejection. It was popularly anticipated that Thrace and Smyrna would be restored.

The Supreme Council’s new terms provide that Turks shall retain Constantinople, and be given the chairmanship of the Straits Commission, and two votes thereon instead of one. The Allies are to undertake to facilitate Turkey’s admission to the League of Nations if Turkey demonstrates her readiness to carry out tho Treaty.
