In the House of Representatives yesterday Mr L. M. Isitt (Christchurch North) gave notice to move for a return showing The number of charges and convictions for offences for drunkenness, and tho number and ages of persons convicted, in each no-license district, from January Ist to December 31st, 1920; and (2) the quantity and kind of liquor sent into each no-lioense district from January Ist to December 31st, 1920. Mr J. Vigor Brown (Napier) gave notice in the House of Representatives yesterday to ask the Prime Minister whether he will have an official inspector of fire-escapes appointed to inspect all hotels, boardinghouses, schools factories, etc. P At present, stated the hon. member, inspection is made by the police, licensing benches, and borough councils, whose officials have no fecial knowledge of tlie work, and very often work that has been done by one authority is altered by another authority.
