AN ELECTION ERROR
PECULIAR HAPPENING IN SOUTH AFRICA. Australian amt N '/ '77‘ Association. CAPETOWN, March 14. In the Supreme Court an application for a recount of the East London ballot papers, on the grounds that a bundle was credited to the wrong man, resulted in the votes for Mr Stewart, the Labour candidate, being increased to 1503. and those for Mr Lownds, South African Party, being diminished to 1444. Mr Stewart will now apply to the Supreme Court to be declared duly elected.
