GOAL SUPPLY
INDUSTRIES KEPT GOING. CARGOES 'ARRIVING. On account of the trouble on the waterfront and the consequent congestion of shipments of coal, the Coal Trade Committee has been unable to make allotments of coal recently. The position, however, as far as the industries are concerned, is stated to bo nob so acute as it was a week ago. The oommittee has sent supplies of coal to various districts where the shortage was being most felt, and every endeavour has been made to prevent industries from suffering. The Waingawa freezing works, near Masterton, which was reported to be closing down partly on account of the inability to secure coal, have beeu kept going with supplies, and there Is a shipment comprising 1000 tons in the harbour, from Newcastle, for that company, which should bo sufficient to keep the works going for several weeks. Further supplies of coal are expected from the West Coast, and the Waitemata is due from Sydney with a cargo of 7000 tons, all of Which will be required for the various industries.
