IMPORTANT ISSUES

POST AND' TELEGRAPH BALLOT. An important ballot of members of tbe New Zealand Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association in connection with certain proposals will close this afternoon. There are two issues, which are said to be the outcome pf the assurances given by the Government for increased pay for the members, of the service. It is understood that the first issue has to do with the amending of the constitution of the association in order t.o permit of a postal ballot being taken, if necessary, on matters of urgency. The second, it is understood, asks the opinion of the members as to the advisability of entering into an alliance with the railway organisations throughout tho Dominion, so that concerted action may he taken where mutual interests are concerned.
