HARBOUR EMPLOYEES

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wellington Harbour Beard Employees’ Association was held on Saturday last, when there were about fifty members present. The following officers were elected President, Mr W. Mcßain; vice-presi-dents, Messrs McLaren and J. R. McKenzie; secretary, Mr C. H. Chapman; assistant secretary, Mr E. Kirk. The secretary reported that the membership had been increased by eighty during the year, and now numbered 304. It was resolved to ask the Harbour Board to amend certain anomalies in wages and conditions of some members of the staff. The retiring president, Mr J. Bailey, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for services rendered during tho past two years. ____________
