AUSTRIA’S PLIGHT
ALLIED PLANS FOR ASSISTANCE. Australian surf N.Z. Cable Association (Received March 13, 11.40 p.m.) LONDON, March 12. Before the Supreme Council, Herr May re, Austrian Chancellor, described the economio difficulties, and pleaded for a comprehensive scheme of assistance. Mr Lloyd George sympathised and invited delegatee together with finnancial experts, to meet Mr Austen Chamberlain (Chancellor of the Exchequer).' As the outcome of a later conference Allied experts promised to ®reeeiri thpir respective Governments’ suggestions whereby Austria will he effectively assisted.
