THE HUTT PARK
GROUNDS FOR THE WINTER. QUARTERLY - OOMMITTEiE MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Hutt Park Committee was held at Petone last evening, the chairman, Mr Brocklebank,' presiding. Applications were received for playing grounds upon the park for the ensuing winter, and one each was allotted to The following sport® bodies:— Wellington Rugby Union, Wellington Rugby League, and the Petone Association Football Club. The fee was fixed at the same rate as last year—£3 3s per ground. An application was received from the Wellington Presbyterian Young Women’s Bible Class for the use of the park grandstand and buildings during Easter for the purpose of the annual camp. Tfie request was granted, the fee for the use of the park and buildings being fixed at £5. The New Zealand Aerial Transport Company, of Hastings, who had intended to make use of the park for assembling certain aeroplanes being landed from overseas vessels advised that an alteration in the shipping arrangements had been made, with the result that the machines were being shipped direct to Napier. The company intimated that it would probably be negotiating at a later date for the use of the ground for machines visiting Wellington. The caretaker advised that considerable repair work had been carried dutto the caretaker’s cottage. The caretaker’s wages weje increased from £3 to £3 7s 6d per week. Being the last meeting of the com-mittee-prior to the council elections, the chairman took the opportunity to thank the members for the assistance they had rendered him during the past two yean^.
