SMOKE CONCERT
BANK OFFICERS’ GUILD. A smoke concert was held on Wednesday evening at Dustin’s. Cuba street, by the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild (incor.), in honour of the delegates who are at present attending a conference being held in Wellington by the guild. « Ovei* 170 were present, including the heads of the hanks and tepresentatives from the recently-fann-ed Insurance and Shipping Guilds. List of toasts: ‘The King,”, "The Guild,” proposed by Mr Cox (inspector, Bank of Australasia), responded to by Mr Baxter and- Mr H. P. Mourant (secretary of the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild); “The Banks,” proposed by Mr H. J. King (president, New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild), responded to by Mr Duthie (chairman or the Associated Banks), and Mr H. Buckleton (general manager of the Bank of New Zealand), and the heads of the other banka: “Kindred Guilds,” proposed by Mr Gordon Henderson, responded to by Mr Hasnmond (president or Insurance Guild) and Mr Bayfield (president pf Shipping Guild ). _VocmJ and recitative items were oontributec by Messrs C. S. Nelson, G. E. March. Norman Aitken, L. J. Loftus, and Al bert Russell.
